What people are saying…

I wish I had something like this when I was starting out as a Production Assistant. I was clueless in the beginning, just doing whatever I was ordered to do.  However, as a PA if you want to be valuable you need to be proactive and get things done without being asked.

Over time you learn what those things are but, in the meantime, it can be overwhelming for you and frustrating for the production crew. When you are just an extra hand but not a real support moving the production forward you’re not a real asset to the team.

For new people starting out, having a program like this available can help you hit the ground running on day one. That will help you feel more confident and get you more gigs.  It can also help you move up the food chain a lot faster into whatever department you aspire too. If you’re new to the business and want to get a leg up in a short period of time, it is worth investing in a program like this that can help you do that.

Robin Kincade has crafted an inspired, practical, and comprehensive course for anyone who wants to get into the exciting profession of film and video production. This Film Production Assistant course is equally informative for those who want to start from the beginning without any experience, for those who want to explore a new career, or even those who want to change their careers in midlife and want to become part of a demanding but imminently creative life pursuit.

I grew up learning about the business - my mother was a pioneer in promoting documentary film and programming in the Bay Area in the 1950s at KGO and KQED television when the profession was in its infancy, and I watched it grow to become one of the most significant cultural forces in our day-to-day lives.

When I first met Robin in 1978, I recognized someone with the talent, creativity, courage, and energy to be a success and an innovator. Robin did it the hard way, from the ground up; she learned through experience every aspect of what it takes to be successful. If you follow her steps, you will be rewarded with an exciting, challenging and rewarding profession.

Kincade Productions has crafted this film production assistant course to be informative, easily comprehensible, and straightforward. As someone who is just beginning my career, I found this course to be not only educative, but also motivational.

Throughout the course, you will hear from a diverse group of individuals from various departments of film production. The language used is clear and presents a plethora of knowledge from people with years of experience.

I would recommend this course to anyone who is just starting out as a PA, or even someone who is just looking for a brief introduction about diving into the entertainment world.

Kincade Productions helps you understand not only how to get into the industry but what attitude is best for success. Through compelling visual storytelling and in-field perspectives from film makers in the profession, Robin applies emphasis to what’s most important and is genuinely trying to make the film community better, one student at a time.

As someone new to the film industry I have come to find that being armed with this video course from Kincade Productions and it’s invaluable teachings, has lifted the veil of the unspoken codes of conduct for the film industry specifically and what is taboo. All of which has better prepared me for the reality of following my dream of filmmaking.

I worked in the aviation sector for over 15 years and wanted a change. I craved to control my time and win or lose from my own effort. I learned of Robin’s Production Assistant Course and was intrigued but hesitant, wondering if I had what it took to get into the film industry. After doing some research on her, I took the chance and trusted Robin.

What I learned was not only how and where to find the door and open it, but also what to expect and how to succeed once I was on the inside. It is filled with real, practical, essential and, often, unspoken advice from real professionals who rely on a PA’s performance: this is key.

So, if you want to break into the industry, the knowledge and insight in this course is a massive confidence booster. It helped me find my path, it can help you too.  Take this course…you’ll thank Robin.

Kincade Production’s How to be a Successful Production Assistant Course is concise and easily digestible, allowing you to work at your own pace. Each section begins on a broader scale and becomes more specific as you progress. And while I’ve only seen some of what the series has to offer, I already feel as though I have a better grasp on set etiquette. The amount of information per episode is manageable, and I don’t feel forced to retain everything at once.

When I approached the film community here in the Bay Area, I was right out of film school and didn’t know how to start.

Robin Kincade was a huge player in launching my career in the film and commercial video industry.

I had the pleasure of a sneak peek at this training and true to Robin’s promise, this delivers the goods. Going through each lesson, I found myself wishing I could have gifted this to some of the PA’s and others on set I’ve hired over the years…they may not have needed that “second chance” that never came.

If you’re interested in getting in the industry, not matter what position you’re after,  this is full of great advice. Buy it now. The cost is a mere few days of PA pay, but the value could be a life-time of working in this industry.
